Hands-only CPR
Hands-only CPR
What happens when a family member or friend suddenly collapses? Would you know what you can do to help?
Hands-only CPR is a basic method to provide blood circulation for a person who is in cardiac arrest. If you see and adult or older teenager suddenly collapse, call 9-1-1 and start pressing hard and fast in the center of their chest, to the beat of the song “Stayin’ Alive.” That’s it!

Make sure to give 9-1-1 your exact location when you call, especially if you call from a cell phone or other mobile device. That will ensure the 9-1-1 dispatcher has the most correct information about how do send EMS to your location. Telling them this information will not delay the dispatch of the EMS unit.
